Education and Resources for Immigrants and Refugees in Western Massachusetts

The Center for New Americans provides support and education services to immigrants in our community. This cause is important to me because my grandparents (pictured) were immigrants, refugees of the European Holocaust who arrived in the US in late 1940. Immigrants contribute so much to our local, regional, and national communities, and it is important to welcome and support them as we ourselves would want to be welcomed and supported if we had to remake our lives in a new home. This is true now more than ever. So please give as generously as you can!

Center for New Americans has been welcoming and serving immigrants in Western Massachusetts since 1992. We teach free classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), digital literacy, civics, U.S. culture. We offer support services including connections to community resources and assistance finding employment. We also offer some immigration legal services, including assistance applying and preparing for U.S. citizenship, assistance with employment authorization and family petitions, and some humanitarian assistance. We rely on a small, dedicated staff, an engaged board of directors, generous volunteers and supporters, and public and private funding. 30 Poems in November! is one of our most important fundraisers every year.
