This year I am excited to join other local poets who will write 30 poems in 30 days, beginning November 1. It is a way of supporting the work of the Center for New Americans. Many members of Familias con Poder/Families With Power and many of my students' parents have attended English classes and certified nurse aide trainings and received support to become American citizens. CNA has been a partner with Families With Power in offering workshops about how schools work and other support to immigrant families in our public schools. CNA is a vital organization in our community. We're aiming to raise much needed funds for CNA programs and you can help!

Here's how it works: I'll write a poem for every day in November. I am inviting you to go online to my 30 Poems Pledge Page, click on "Donate Here," and make your pledge. It would be wonderful if you would pledge $1 for every poem that I write, but any amount will be greatly appreciated! Every bit helps. Your contribution will be tax-exempt. When you have completed your donation, follow the instructions to print a receipt. Money raised from the 30 Poems in November! project will be donated to the Center for New Americans, a non-profit community-based education and resource center for immigrants, refugees, and other limited English speakers in the Pioneer Valley. CNA provides free classes in English, technology, job counseling, citizenship assistance and literacy. Your contribution will go directly to CNA's Family Literacy Project. On December 3rd, we'll have a public reading and celebration where all local poets who participated in the project will read one of their poems, and all donors will be invited. Please go to the website and make your pledge as soon as you can. On December 1, I'll let you know how I did--and send you a poem! With gratitude for your support, Mary Cowhey
