I am an ESOL teacher at Center for New Americans. This is the fourth year that I've participated in 30 Poems. I love this event. 30 Poems elevates the act of writing poetry, allows new poems to be shared and enjoyed in our community, and raises a lot of money for a local organization doing important work for immigrants in our area. Plus, 30 Poems has helped me develop a practice of writing daily (or almost daily), which brings much joy and amusement.
