Dear people, there are so many important places to give our hard-earned $$$. Let me tell you why I'm here. Thirty Poems in November! is a literary fundraiser for Center for New Americans, an org. that welcomes and serves immigrants in Western Massachusetts with free English classes and a wide range of support services. People may not arrive on boats in NY harbor so much anymore; they more likely hiked for weeks or months, waited ten years in a refugee camp, or took multiple detours along a long, dangerous journey to get here. Now they're our neighbors! Mme. Liberty has been standing out there, nonstop, for a long time now. And me? It's been a few years since I did this, but I'm back -the least I can do is write some poems. Please join Liberty- and me! - in supporting brave immigrants building their lives in a new place.
