30 Poems in November! is a literary fundraiser for Center for New Americans. Center for New Americans welcomes and serves immigrants in Western Massachusetts with free English classes and a range of support services. For more information, please visit: http://www.cnam.org This year, we aim to raise $50,000. Writers do their part by writing one poem each day in November. Friends and family do their part by donating to support this effort. Powerful new poems and financial contributions translate to community support for immigrants.
I will be writing a poem a day throughout November in order to raise money for New Americans because too many current Americans want to keep certain people out. For every poem I write, I would like you to donate a dollar amount. One dollar per poem gives New Americans $30. One thousand dollars per poem also works.
I may not write 30 poems but if I don't you can contact me personally and I will give you a refund.
I did this a couple of years ago and usually based my poems on obituaries in the New York Times. Maybe that sounds depressing but given the front page or the obits, the latter is usually more uplifting..
