TPS is expanded to include 5 new countries

USCIS has expanded the Temporary Protected Status program (TPS) to include 5 new countries. TPS is now available for individuals who are from Burma (Myanmar), Somalia, Syria, Venezuela, and Yemen; in addition to Haiti, El Salvador, Honduras, Nepal, Nicaragua, Sudan, and South Sudan.  (TPS for Haitians was just extended through February 3, 2023.)

USCIS is also expanding the ability for applicants from the 5 new TPS countries to file online through the USCIS portal. TPS applications for individuals from these 5 added countries will be the first to be able to file for TPS and employment authorization concurrently online.
