The Center for New Americans always welcomes our support to help them support immigrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers who are looking for a new home and a place of belonging. This fundraising/friend-raising event is one of the amazing things the Center does each year to build community, along with teaching English, helping find legal supports, offering naturalization support, and hosting an annual new citizen ceremony every July 4th. Please join me in supporting the Center for New Americans.
Hello Friends. In the spirit of full disclosure, in all the years I've participated in this event, the truth is that I don't write a poem a day. But I do write more poems than I usually would, and my involvement not only helps raise money but also keeps my connection to this vibrant community alive and well. I am so moved that many of the people who receive CNA's services are now participating in 30 Poems in November. If you are moved to contribute through my page, I will send you a poem of my own creation. But if you are moved to contribute direectly to the Center for New Americans or through another writer's page, that's okay by me. It all goes to the same place.
