Paul Simon sings, "Peace like a river runs through the city".  Last year I wrote and it is still true:
"there is no peace
each night i watch on the news
children screaming
wounded parents
body bags stretched out
rivers of blood
not peace
columns of refugees
men, women, children
fleeing
nowhere to go
nowhere to go"
This year I pledge to write every day in November to support the Center for New Americans providing much needed assistance to the refugees welcomed to Western Massachusetts.
