The support the center offers is near and dear to my heart. In a time when immigration is so politicized and refugees rejected by many states, the services delivered are essential. This is the third time I have particpated in this event and I am thankful that this writing community helps to keep their services going.
My hometown is a community farmed by migrant workers whose journey impacted me deeply starting in grade school. I dedicate this campaign to all who criss-cross borders.
