I married a woman from another country. Even though she came to the US of her own free will, it is not always easy to feel like one belongs in two places. I can only imagine how much harder it must be for someone who was forced to leave their homeland. Borders may be necessary, but they are also often places where we say goodbye to someone we care about. Please help me support Center for New Americans, which makes landing in a new country easier. 30 Poems in November! is a literary fundraiser for Center for New Americans. CNA welcomes and serves immigrants in Western Massachusetts with free English classes and a range of support services. For more information, please visit: http://www.cnam.org This year, we aim to raise $65,000. Writers do their part by writing one poem each day in November. The community does their part by donating to support this effort. Powerful new poems and financial contributions translate to meaningful support for immigrants.
