30 Poems in November! is a literary fundraiser for Center for New Americans. Center for New Americans welcomes and serves immigrants in Western Massachusetts with free English classes and a range of support services. For more information, please visit: http://www.cnam.org This year, we aim to raise $65,000. Writers do their part by writing one poem each day in November. Friends and family do their part by donating to support this effort. Powerful new poems and financial contributions translate to community support for immigrants.

Pleasure to write with you for such a wonderful cause. My grandparents came from The Pale.

Sonnets, haiku, villanelles...OH MY! It's time for 30 Poems in November!

Please consider sponsoring me with a donation to the Center for New Americans to support their programs for immigrants and asylum seekers. The Center is expanding their English language, job training, and citizen test preparation classes as we welcome an influx of new immigrants, 7 from Afghanistan and 3 from Central America, just last week.

I participate in this project as a grateful 3rd generation American, aware that my Grandmother's parents immigrated and found refuge from Czarist Russia, and that the family that remained were killed by the Nazis.

As citizenship granted my family life and opportunity, may it continue to do so for those in need in our time.
