In the early 1900s, my mother and her family, and my father's parents, left their homes in war-torn Europe seeking a better life for themselves and their descendants. The United States remains a beacon of hope in the world. Today we can't open a newspaper or watch the news without seeing or hearing a story about the plight of immigrants, people fleeing often desperate situations with that same dream of providing a better life for themselves and their families. Here in the Pioneer Valley, the Center for New Americans welcomes immigrants and provides support through English classes, career preparation, legal services, and other support services. Please join me in supporting the great work they do. Donations of any amount are greatly appreciated
