My grandfather came to the U.S. when he was sixteen years old. He didn't speak English and had to assimilate into a population much different than the one he had left. Fortunately for him he had relatives here to guide him. 
Many immigrants are alone in a new land. The Center for New Americans provides many services. Included are: language classes, help in finding jobs and help to attain citizenship in the US. I'm proud to help contribute to such a welcoming and positive community.
