In these tumultuous times, we need poetry! For this month of November, I will write a poem a day, and if at the end of the month, a few of these daily writings work into finished poems, I'll be happy and will send them to my supporters. Meanwhile, I will also READ the poems of other poets and send my supporters one of these poems each day. Most importantly, I believe we must support our community of immigrant friends and neighbors. This fundraiser is a wonderful way to say "Welcome, we are glad you are here."

Center for New Americans has been welcoming and serving immigrants in Western Massachusetts since 1992. We teach free classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), digital literacy, civics, U.S. culture. We offer support services including connections to community resources and assistance finding employment. We also offer some immigration legal services, including assistance applying and preparing for U.S. citizenship, assistance with employment authorization and family petitions, and some humanitarian assistance. We rely on a small, dedicated staff, an engaged board of directors, generous volunteers and supporters, and public and private funding. 30 Poems in November! is one of our most important fundraisers every year.
