Words to Hold Us Together – 30 Poems in November

This November, I'm joining the "30 Poems in November" fundraiser to support literacy and free English classes at the Center for New Americans. The challenge is simple but daunting: write a poem every day for thirty days. For me, it's more than an exercise. It's a way to put words to the world around us... our struggles, our hopes, our resilience. Some poems will be raw, some polished, some maybe just fragments of things that have been rattling around in my head. All of them will be part of showing up, day after day, for both the writing and the cause. The Center for New Americans does work I deeply believe in: giving people the tools of language and community so they can build new lives. Every donation here goes directly to support that mission. Right now... more than ever... this is a community that needs our support. If you can, please contribute. And if you can't, cheer me on. I’ll be writing all month, and every poem will be written with gratitude for those who walk alongside me.
