Millions of immigrants live in the United States, some with approval , and others crossed the border because of circumstances beyond their control. Either way immigrants are the foundation of our country. They are part of the rich fabric that makes America beautiful. This page is designed to share poetry in both English and Spanish that exhibits the importance of living in a society that welcomes immigrants, in addition demonstrate the reality of being ethnically diverse in a homogeneous world. / Millones de inmigrantes viven en los Estados Unidos, algunos con permisos y otros cruzaron la frontera por circunstancias afuera de su control. En cualquier caso, los inmigrantes son la base de nuestro país. Forman parte del rico tejido que hace hermoso a los Estados Unidos. Center for New Americans has been welcoming and serving immigrants in Western Massachusetts since 1992. We teach free classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), digital literacy, civics, U.S. culture. We offer support services including connections to community resources and assistance finding employment. We also offer some immigration legal services, including assistance applying and preparing for U.S. citizenship, assistance with employment authorization and family petitions, and some humanitarian assistance. We rely on a small, dedicated staff, an engaged board of directors, generous volunteers and supporters, and public and private funding. 30 Poems in November! is one of our most important fundraisers every year.
