Writing 30 Poems

Thanks to Jennifer Ladd for telling me about this challenge supporting a good organization. In her words, "30 Poems in November is a tribute to the incredible endurance, stamina and determination of immigrants, refugees and asylum seekers who are here and able to attend classes at Center for New Americans."

Center for New Americans has been welcoming and serving immigrants in Western Massachusetts since 1992. We teach free classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), digital literacy, civics, U.S. culture. We offer support services including connections to community resources and assistance finding employment. We also offer some immigration legal services, including assistance applying and preparing for U.S. citizenship, assistance with employment authorization and family petitions, and some humanitarian assistance. We rely on a small, dedicated staff, an engaged board of directors, generous volunteers and supporters, and public and private funding. 30 Poems in November! is one of our most important fundraisers every year.
