30 Poems in November! is a literary fundraiser in support of literacy programs at Center for New Americans. This is Year 15!

This year's Poem-a-Thon is led by Sarah Sullivan, Event Chair, for the 6th year! Victoria Maillo, Center for New Americans board member, joins Sarah as an Event Leader.

The money we raise helps to support our free classes and services for immigrants. We have added classes in an effort to welcome immigrants, refugees, migrants, parolees from Haiti, Syria, Ukraine, Afghanistan, Sudan, and many other countries.

Here's how this event works:

Writers write one poem a day for 30 days in November.

Center for New Americans has been welcoming and serving immigrants in Western Massachusetts since 1992. We teach free classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), technology skills, civics, and career preparation. We connect our students to community resources and help them get jobs. We offer some immigration legal services, including assistance applying and preparing for U.S. citizenship, assistance with employment authorization and family petitions, and some humanitarian assistance. We rely on a small, dedicated staff, an engaged board of directors, and generous volunteers and supporters.
