As a perennial participant in this fundraiser, I love knowing the power of poetry to inspire, provoke deep thought, and help make positive change. As a longtime volunteer at CNAM, I put my time and money behind the cause of helping recent immigrants become productive members of our community.

Many beloved members of my community have been at risk due to current policies that detain, imprison and deport productive, hard-working community members.
I believe our society benefits enormously from their talent, culture and determination to live in safety and peace. I personally know a family that self-deported for fear their family might be separated... or worse. They have been living, working, raising children in this country for many years.
Now that federal funding has been withdrawn to support CNAM's mission to provide free English classes, train immigrants for jobs and help them find jobs, and more, your contributions are needed more than ever!
