Treasured Friends & Strangers,
This month I turn 80.
Your gift will support my creation of 30 poems, one a day,
to fund the Center for New Americans. I will deliver this work
in any way you wish.
Each day we witness what horror stalks the families we're here to welcome. My own grief and hope, I will summon into poems here and active resistance. I'm supporting the Center for New Americans, who will continue to provide and expand English classes for immigrants, refugees, migrants, and asylum-seekers.
Word for word, drafting these poems, I want to counteract the slander and provide grace and access for English language-seekers. Here is one obstacle we can help our new neighbors to overcome.
