Once again, it is time for all of us to stand up for what we believe in, to support agencies that help protect the freedoms of all of us. This month, I and many other poets will write to support the Center for New Americans, a local agency that helps immigrants and refugees alike transition to the American way of life through free English classes, and in a myriad of other ways. We need your help!
Do you ever feel that you have no power? No control? The older I get, the more I realize just how little of each that I have. But this coming month is different. November is the month that I can do something positive in a very bleak time in our history. I can flex my literary muscles and write 30 poems in support of a wonderful organization, Center for New Americans. I can't think of a better way to apply myself, to exercise some of my power for good than to do this. And you can join me!
