This is the 7th year I have participated in this admirable campaign to support the amazing Center for New Americans. With average annual donations to my page of $2000 (a low estimate), that means you have helped to raise nearly $15,000 for the Center, via the efforts of a single poet. Plus you have inspired and motivated me to write more and write better. (Who wouldn’t, with forty-plus devoted readers out there every day?)
Please continue to support this organization that meets immigrants where they are and helps them day-by-day to reach their goals: new language skills, an education, a job, the means to support their family, and the opportunity to give back to the country that welcomed them in a time of need. (Yes, at our core, we are still a country that welcomes them, and they can feel that when they enter these classrooms.
