Welcome to my "fun-raising" page! There is so much suffering in this world, which can leave us feeling powerless. Well, here's your chance to make a difference. Every dollar you donate goes directly to help recent immigrants become productive members of our community. I intend to focus many of my 30 poems this year on joy and humor. We all need more of both!
As a long-time volunteer at Center for New Americans in Northampton, Massachusetts for a dozen years, I feel thrilled but a bit daunted to participate in this year’s fundraiser to help this nonprofit organization continue providing free English lessons as well as job training and placement to recent immigrants and other services to help them settle into productive lives. Thrilled, to raise money for a cause crucial to a vulnerable portion of our community. Daunted, because it's a challenge to keep the muse in motion each day. Please consider contributing at least $1 a day (or more) for 30 days in November. I plan to post most of my poems at www.substack.com/@jpwriter.
