Foxglove Poet

It's been 11 (eleven ) years writing poetry and raising $$ for the Center for New Americans and I am honored to be a part of this annual tradition.

Many a Friday afternoon you will find me standing out on Bridge Road outside of Lathrop holding a sign with my neighbor Lathropians as we encourage others to "resist MAGA" or "end the ICE age" or "support our vets" and "NO KINGS HERE".  Many folks driving by show us their thumbs up or wave or honk in agreement.  Still I am anxious because this administration has gutted all that we have worked towards; gutted our basic democracy.  Please join me this year as you have in past years to pledge your dollars (no amount is too small) and I pledge to write each day in November to raise money for this incredible agency.  The Center for New Americans provides free services (ESOL classes, citizenship preparation, digital literacy, and more) to immigrants. I promise an assortment of genres - the triolet, the limerick, the haiku, maybe a sestina, maybe a sonnet and at least one villanelle.  Let's tell our newest Americans and Americans-to-be that you are truly welcome here!  Thank you.
