Reading poetry is my favorite way to start my day. It awakens my brain to new possibilities and clears the cobwebs from the night before. Center for New Americans also has opened my world to new possibilities, as I have witnessed how it changes lives of our immigrant community, day by day, heart by heart. I love this fundraising effort which creatively raises a very significant amount of dollars for the programs offered and for many years I have supported a few writers. Now I'm leaping into the uncomfortable space of challenging myself to 30 poems, one a day, like a vitamin, to inspire myself and inspire you, my friends and family, to donate . You will not receive daily emails, and I won't chase you down the street to share my attempts at writing poetry, but I will offer to send you a small selection should you ask for them.
