Welcome to my fundraising page for The Center for New Americans! The center's vision is an important one: Immigrants will acquire the tools to integrate economically and culturally into the community, become self-sufficient, and shape the vibrant future of our region. I am honored to be part of a community supporting the services necessary to make the vision a reality.
This is the first year I am participating in The Center for New Americans' 30 Poems in November fundraiser. It is a stretch for me since I have written very few poems in my lifetime. It is a small stretch, however. As new Americans, immigrants face challenges every day. Learning to speak English, navigating a new culture, and establishing oneself in a new homeland can be exhausting, frustrating and also rewarding. The Center for New Americans provides English classes, resources, and legal services for immigrants in western Massachusetts. Please join me in donating to this necessary and worthwhile organization.
