30 Poems in November! is a literary fundraiser in support of literacy programs at Center for New Americans. This is Year 14! Center for New Americans welcomes and serves immigrants, refugees, migrants, and asylum-seekers in Western Massachusetts. We offer free classes in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), career preparation assistance, support services and immigration legal services.
Why is November one of my favorite months? Because I'm writing to raise money for the Center for New Americans. Retired & rewired again, I am living a writing life ( and being Bubbe). I am in a workshop with a beloved mentor Joan Larkin, and wriitng every day. OK, sometimes it's just moving a comma around but that can be central to the process! Seriously, I am cranking out poems.
