I'll be writing poems and songs for the month of November to raise money for Center for New Americans to support immigrants, asylum seekers and refugees.
I've participated in this amazing write-a-thon for the past fifteen years. November is my favorite month because I've gotten up a little early to read the prompt that's arrived in my email and see if it inspires something in me. During this time, I've written poems that have been published in literary journals as well as some of my most enduring songs. There's something alchemical that happens when a group of writers join together, even virtually, to pick up the pen and write in the name of justice and kindness. I am grateful for your support, and so are the countless others who benefit from the services of Center for New Americans.
