Welcome to my 30 Poems in November fundraising page. I will write a poem everyday for 30 days to raise money for the Center for New Americans. Join me in supporting this wonderful organization which helps immigrants, refugees, and asylum seekers. Together we can make a difference!
For many years I've participated in this event even though asking for donations is a challenge. But I do it because the Center for New Americans is an important local resource for new residents who need a helping hand in establishing themselves. It's not easy to leave all that you know behind and start over in a different country especially when you're seeking safety and may not know the language. There's so much to learn and adjust to. Having an organization that provides free English classes and other forms of assistance is an incredible benefit! I’m proud to do my small part to help our new neighbors and I hope you will too! I will share my best poems when you make a contribution.
